The Open Climate Collabathon is an open event mobilizing a global network of Universities, civic tech groups, startups and youth to collaborate and crowd-develop digital solutions for climate accounting and transparency aligned with the Paris Agreement.
We are currently assembling the organization and design for the 2021 main event, hosted in October prior to the COP26 summit.
WHAT
Build an Integrated and Open Climate Accounting System
An integrated global climate accounting system, web platform and portal built one prompt at a time. This collaborative hackathon is organized around multiple prompts for teams to work on.
WHO
Anyone can join teams or attend events and dialogues
Participants sign up to the collabathon via nodes, mostly Universities and civic tech groups, and assemble into multi-disciplinary teams to tackle specific prompts. Other open events and panels don't require team participation.
WHEN
Next global event is being organized for October 2021
In the lead up to the UNFCCC COP26 event, we will host the Collabathon with dialogues and hacking sessions aligned with the negotiation topics. Learn how you can help organize this next event.

This year all events will be taking place online, using our collaboration environment and organized by local nodes all over the world. Open Climate Dialogues and coordination events are hosted via Zoom.
